CWI 9 Yr. - Introduction to Metallurgy covers the basic theories metallurgy for those who are looking for to develop a basic understanding of metallurgy. After this course the student will be able to:

  1. Explain the concepts of stress and strain in metals.
  2. Describe the different properties of metals.
  3. Identify the two major classes of metals.
  4. Describe the different types of ferrous and nonferrous metals.

This online course is designed to give the CWI a solid introduction into metallurgy. The purpose of this course is to give deeper insight into the fundamentals of metallurgy. An understanding of this area will make it easier to participate to communicate with metallurgist, the welding craft and supervision in regards to metallurgical and welding related technical issues and topics.
