The CWI Part A Training Course Layout

The CWI Part “A” training course classes are broken down into ten (10) major topics as listed below. Train-Eng has attempted to keep each module video between twenty (20) minutes and sixty (60) minutes. This allows the student to complete each module in its entirety so that the student can come back and start a new module video rather than trying to find where one left off in the video that was being watched previously. The main topics are as follows:

• Module 1: Welding Inspection and Certification.
• Module 2: Safe Practices for Welding Inspectors.
• Module 3: Metal Joining and Cutting Processes.
• Module 4: Weld Joint Geometry and Welding Symbols​.
• Module 5: Documents Governing Welding Inspection and Qualification.​
• Module 6: Metal Properties and Destructive Testing.​
• Module 7: Metric System and Math.​
• Module 8: Welding Metallurgy​.
• Module 9: Weld and Base Metal Discontinuities​.
• Module 10: Visual Inspection/NDE Methods and Symbols.

Online Option

CWI "Part A" Online Training Course:

• Equivalent course material as the 40 Hour Classroom CWI Training Course.
• Course material is broken down into typically 20-30 minute sections.
• Extensive bank of questions to test and reaffirm your knowledge.
• Course access: one (1) year to complete.
• Code Books are NOT included in our price.

Cost: $149.00

Course access: one (1) year to complete.

In-person Classroom Option

CWI "Part A" In-person Classroom Training Course:

• 40 Hrs CWI Training Course.
• 2 nights per week for 5 weeks.
• Online CWI Course included - 4 months of access. Starts when the in-person training begins.
• Code Books are NOT included in our price.

Classes are held: West side of Houston, TX, other locations are possible. on demand.

Other Options

Train-Eng recognizes that there are some students that do need all of the modules based on their personal experience and education. A student may just want to brush up on certain modules prior to sitting for the CWI exam. A student can choose the whole course or specific section combinations listed below:

• COMPLETE COURSE: Modules 1-10.

• OPTION1: Modules 3, 4, 5, 6.

• OPTION 2: Modules 4, 5, 6.

• OPTION 3: Modules 6, 8, 9, 10.

• OPTION 4: Modules 3.

• OPTION 5: Modules 4.

• OPTION 6: Modules 5.

• OPTION 7: Modules 6.

• OPTION 8: Modules 8.

• OPTION 9: Modules 9.

• OPTION 10: Modules 10.
