The CWI Part C Training Courses Outline

You will have a choice as to which Part C exam you take to complete the requirements to become a certified welding inspector (CWI). This exam is an open book exam on an industry code. Currently thare are five (5) American Welding Society Codes, one (1) American Petroleum Institue Code and three (3) American Society of Mechanical Engineers Codes. TRAIN-ENG offers a seperate course for the three most popular Codes selected by candidates taking the CWI exam.

• API 1104 - Pipelines
• ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section IX (ASME Section IX)
• AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Code

Each of these options is broken down and taught on a section by section basis from the given code book. This will allow you to follow the training and refer to your copy of the code book as you progress. The exam itself is typically 50-60 questions and test your ability to locate and understand the given code.
