Introduction to Welding Discontinuities (Flaws)
This online course is designed to give mechanical, civil, chemical and electrical engineers a solid introduction into welding discontinuities (flaws) that can occur during the welding processes. The purpose of this course is to give deeper insight into the discontinuities and how to recognize them. Remember, just because a discontinuity (flaw) exist doesn't mean the weld is bad. Whether a flaw is classified as a defect is dependent upon the industry related code or standard that is being applied to the welds. An understanding of this area will make it easier to participate in welding related activities and to communicate with welding craft and supervision in regards to welding related technical issues and topics.
Professional Engineering Development Hours - 8 Hrs.
Course Access: 8 months to complete the course.
