The purpose of this course is to give deeper insight into the discontinuities and how to recognize them. Remember, just because a discontinuity (flaw) exist doesn't mean the weld is bad. Whether a flaw is classified as a defect is dependent upon the industry related code or standard that is being applied to the welds.
