This course will delve into the basic description of the principles of some common arc welding processes and discuss some details of the processes most frequently used in construction manufacturing. These processes are: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) commonly called "stick welding." Flux cored arc welding (FCAW). Submerged arc welding (SAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) commonly called "TIG welding." Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) commonly called "MIG welding."
This online course is designed to give mechanical, civil, chemical and electrical engineers a solid overview of come of the more common arc welding processes. The goal is to give some insight and understanding of arc welding that will make it easier to participate in welding related activities and to communicate with welding craft and supervision in regards to welding related technical issues and topics.
